    Superb

The concierge staff was tremendously helpful - especially Tracey who was truly interested in us having a wonderful time and making the most of our visit. The Palmer House is a beautiful historic hotel of a bygone era. Anyone interested in history and architecture will truly appreciate its beauty.

Our room was a bit small with no closet and no place to hang clothing or even a rest for a suitcase.

    Superb

The Palmer House is an amazing Hotel. The stunning French Empire style furnishings and interior architecture are fabulous. The location is perfect for a city adventure, close to the Art Institute, Millennium Park and only blocks from the shore of Lake Michigan and the Riverwalk. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The staff was super professional, friendly, courteous and efficient. The bar in the lounge was hopping and the food in the restaurant was delicious.

I didn't like that there were additional fees to use the Health Club, Wi-Fi and there were no coffee pots or refrigerators provided in the hotel without further charges. It was also difficult to contact the staff via the in-room telephone at off hours as voicemail kicked in. The air conditioning in the hallways was estremely cold.

We loved its architecture and its location and the helpfulness of the staff.

tea and coffee-making facilities were not available in the room.

We had a slight hook up with using this site..... the price did not come up on The Palmer's reservation as the price that was promised (it was far more). We showed our reservation e-mail to the front desk and they worked quickly to honor our price.

Great location, close to Millenium Park, Art Museums. Concierge quite helpful with public transportation suggestions. Beautiful lobby and cozy lobby bar.

Even though the hotel is very big it still feels like a home away from home. The concierge was particularly helpful.

The hotel was great and the location couldn't have been better for us.

    Fabulous

Stunning decor/architecture in main Reception. Room very comfortable; loved having 'his and hers' bathrooms.

Walls thin - I was kept awake by neighbours on one side cheering at the TV, and woken early by a family with small children on the other.. Not so much as a bottle of mineral water in the room - no refreshments whatsoever, just an empty ice bucket and 2 empty glasses. I didn't expect a hotel with the historical cache of the Hilton to be so stingy on basic hospitality - the most humble establishment in the UK will offer in-room tea/coffee making facilities, and bottled water at the very least.

    Fabulous

The history and the mystery. It was beatiful. All the ballrooms were fantastic and to think of all the celebrities who have stayed at this hotel over the years. The pictures on the walls were great with the information about the Empire Room. My only suggestion is to try to keep the "history" of the hotel in tact and do not modernize too much. We had a leaky faucet in the bath tub, and the maid did not do as good of a job cleaning up towels, etc... as I would have expected.

The only complaint I have is the leaking/screaming bath tub and the maid service.

    Very good

The hotel was glorious and the staff gracious and unpretenscious. As California natives, we never see anything as elegant and spectacular. It was like falling into a Fitzgerald novel. The proxmity to everything was amazing... being able to walk out onto four different streets from one hotel. Everyone there was so nice, and nobody made us feel like tourists (it was a big splurge for us), and my daughter fell in love with Chicago.

We did report a broken tub at 5:00 p.m Saurday night., went out, and returned to find the shower the dripping. So I called once again. As it turned out we had a plumber in our room from about 12:30-1:30 a.m. And I did go in the bathroom later that (morning) to find cockroaches! Good thing I was there with my teenaged daughter.....

    Superb

We were able to watch the McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade from the hotel. The bed was comfortable. The heat/AC worked.

The price of one glass of wine was $11. Ouch! The bathroom in our room on the 22nd floor was very small. No much room to move around and no counter space,

    Fabulous

Loved our spacious room. There was plenty of closet space also. The Concierge Desk had the most helpful staff. Overall I had a very pleasant stay. The hotel design is elegant the spiral staircase is lovely. The lobby is absolutely beautiful!!

I wish the room had mini fridge and microwave. Also, floor 16 smells of cigarettes. My view out of the window was a brick wall!! No street view as requested when booking.

    Very good

The lobby is beautiful, the linens are nice, and the toiletries are top quality.

How long do I have? The walls were so thin we heard every word our neighbors said, housekeeping came into the room w/o knocking, the bathroom was so tiny I couldn't use the toilet, and our supposed king bed was really a queen. Too bad I pre-paid on Booked.net, or we wouldn't have stayed a second night. Just come here for tea in the lobby, but stay somewhere else.
